This intake manifold (part number 5-8650) is the perfect starting point for a carburetor conversion on your Audi or Volkswagen. It is specifically designed for the classic 1.5, 1.6, and 1.8-liter 8-valve engines found in popular models like the Golf Mk1 and Mk2, Jetta, and Scirocco.
The manifold replaces the original intake, allowing you to discard the often problematic original Pierburg carburetor in favor of a reliable and easily tuned two-barrel carburetor from the Weber DG series (such as the 32/36 DGV, DGAV, or 38 DGAS). The result is a significant improvement in reliability, drivability, and throttle response.

- Engines: Audi and VW 8-valve engines (1500cc, 1600cc, 1800cc).

Tip: If you are upgrading from the original carburetor, a fuel pressure regulator is highly recommended, as the stock mechanical pump usually provides too much pressure for the Weber's needle valve. Remember to add a new manifold-to-cylinder head gasket to your order.
