The O-ring spacer (part number 480060) is a vital component for anyone using racing carburetors like the Weber DCO, DCOE, or corresponding FAJS models. Installed between the carburetor and the intake manifold, this insulator serves two critical purposes: it creates a perfectly airtight seal and dampens high-frequency vibrations generated by the engine.
Engine vibrations can cause fuel in the float chamber to froth or foam (creating air bubbles), which results in a lean fuel mixture and loss of power. By using these O-ring spacers, the carburetor is mechanically isolated, ensuring a stable fuel supply and smoother engine performance under high-stress conditions.
